One of the main activities of the DANCE network is the organisation of yearly Winter Schools with the generic title of "Recent Trends in Nonlinear Science". They, usually, take place the first week of February in different cities of Spain.
The goal of these winter schools is to train their participants both theoretically and in applications in the field of nonlinear science with the aim that theory and applications enforce each other.
Expected audience are young researchers in training period as well as senior ones who are looking for new fields. Because of this, the school will mimic a set of graduate courses. In the lessons it will not be assumed any kind of specialised background.
Each Winter School is formed by 3 courses of at most 10 hours each, being one of them
devoted to numerical methods and computations. Some of the lessons can be devoted to practices sessions.
Teachers are encouraged to contribute any kind of material that could be
helpful for the students, like lecture notes or associated software.
The winter schools can be included in the Ph. D. program of Spanish universities.
